The Shania Twain Centre wants to give you a copy of Shania's new book "From This Moment On." Please send us a postcard from your hometown or country with your name, address, and email information on the back. Send it to:

Shania Inducted Into Canadian Music Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Shania on the announcement of her induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. She will be inducted on March 27th, in Toronto, during the 2011 Juno Awards.

Happy New Year to Everyone!!

We ended 2010 with the exciting news of Shania and Fred's engagement, and just a few days later we rang in the New Year with the news of their wedding!! A sunset wedding for Shania and Fred to start the new year.....how romantic!!

Everyone at the STC looks forward to 2011 with the series "Why Not with Shania Twain" on OWN and news that Shania's book is coming out in the spring!!

School Christmas Choirs at the STC

The Shania Twain Centre will host many school choirs during the month of December! Schools from throughout the community will help us celebrate the holiday season by entertaining friends and family at the STC in the evenings during the weeks leading to Christmas. A full schedule of choirs will be posted on the site shortly. Be sure to visit the Shania Centre for all of your unique gift ideas, and listen to the children perform. During this time, the Centre also collects non-parishable food items for the local food banks, be sure to bring something along to help another member of your community during the holiday season.

Halloween at the STC

HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES RETURN TO THE SHANIA TWAIN CENTRE!!

The staff at the Centre are getting ready for another spooktacular event this Halloween. For the 5th year now, Bula the Witch will take over the Shania Twain Centre with many of her friends during the week leading up to Halloween. School children from the Timmins area will visit the Centre to meet Bula and see what she has done to the exhibit hall the week before Halloween. On October 30th, children and adults will have the opportunity to visit the site and take in the haunted exhibit hall, meet Bula and her friends, and if the are REALLY BRAVE, they can go underground in the Gold Mine Tour to see what Bula has in store for them there!!

This event has become very popular over the past several years and over 1000 people go through the site to see the haunted exhibits and take in the little show. Community partners help with goodies for the children and everyone leaves with a little something!!

Be sure to watch the site for pictures and updates as the little ghosts and goblins come out to the Shania Twain Centre!

Fan Convention Itinerary

Hey Everyone!! We've been working on the itinerary for the 8th Annual Fan Convention here in Timmins!! We are so excited to see everyone in August and even more excited to share some of the itinerary with everyone now!!!!

Here are some of the things we've got planned....

Thursday evening - Meet and Greet Social - the STC staff have got some fun things planned!!
Friday Morning - Olympic Torch Run Experience - You'll feel like you were there!!
Friday Afternoon - Timmins Police Station Tour and Guest Speaker - Find out how the City prepares for a Shania Event!!
Friday Evening - Trivia Contest / Video Dance - Who will be the next CHAMPION!!!
Saturday Morning - Shania Twain Centre Experience
Saturday Afternoon - Ball Hockey - This is going to be a blast.....and we all know Shania loves Hockey!!
Saturday Evening - Banquet/Auction with a Country Theme
Sunday - Farewell Brunch

Of course we are working on some surprises as well, but they wouldn't be surprises if we told you about them!!

Some times may change slightly and a few events may be added!!

Olympic Torch To Pass Through Timmins

The City of Timmins is very excited that the Olympic Torch will pass through our community on January 1st 2010 as it makes it's way to the Olympic games in Vancouver.

Today, in a press conference, the final leg runner for the Timmins portion of the route was announced at the Shania Twain Centre!! We are extremely pleased to announce that Shania Twain will carry the torch here in Timmins. Here is a quote from Shania:

It's an immense honour for me to have been given the opportunity to be an Olypmic Torch bearer of the 2010 winter Olympics being held in my birth country of Canada in Vancouver, as it takes its journey through my home town of Timmins. It is certain to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

I am proud to have been presented this unique opportunity and privilege and look forward to sharing the pride with my hometown and fellow Canadians as we are all proud of our country's chance to host the upcoming winter games. I have a tremendous respect for the hard work, dedication and talent of the world's greatest athletes and will humbly carry and pass on the Olympic torch with a special pride for my country's Olympians.

I am grateful for this special gift of participation in carrying the flame that represents such an incredible spirit of sportsmanship and excellence and wish ALL the athletes of the 2010 Winter Olympics courage, strength and triumph during the games.

I'm sending my sincerest, best wishes to each and every one of you as you take this remarkable Olympic journey.
